Welcome to Courageous Conversations

Courageous Conversations Counselling provides numerous services to therapists, organisations,  educational settings and corporations seeking support in the counselling, well-being and mental health sectors. My name is Dr Sophie Lea and I am based in Melbourne, Australia. I have been working happily in the helping professions my entire professional life. My background is in education as a primary, secondary and specialist education educator. After further counsellor training, I have worked as a school counsellor both in international schools and here in Australia in specialist settings and for independent schools. I specialise in family and adolescent counselling and clinical supervision services for therapists and educators in wellbeing in Australia and Singapore. I currently work as a Lecturer in the School of Educational Psychology and Counselling at Monash University. I also am a co-founder and Director of Kind Schools, a not-for-profit which supports schools globally to embed kindness practices into school communities- launching in 2022.

My areas of expertise and research include;

Trauma-informed and resilience approaches for supporting students in varied educational settings.

Therapeutic, evidence-based space design for therapy private practices, schools, medical centres, not for profit organisations and corporate environments.
